Grip Tape
Follow these simple rules to putting on grip tape:
1. Make sure the top of the deck is clean and free of dust or old grip.
2. Hold the new strip of grip over (do not stick it to the board) the board and make sure the nose, tail and sides are completely covered by the grip tape.
3. Stick the grip (lengthwise) to the ends of the nose and tail of the deck. The grip should not be touching the centre of the board.
4. Push the grip down to stick on the deck from the centre of the board and smooth out to the nose and tail with your left and right hand.
5. Run a file around the outside of the board over the grip tape to create a cut line. (You should see a white line start to appear where you run the file along the edge of the deck) Use a sharp cutting utensil (please if you are too young to use these tools ask an adult to help!!!!!!!!!) and cut along the white line from under the grip through to the top. Use the side of the board as a guide to rest the cutting utensil on. Make the best flowing cuts as possible to cut the grip.
6. Poke holes through the grip where the truck bolts go and you are on your way!
Removing old grip:
Heat up the old grip with a hairdryer. Try and cover the whole board evenly with heat until the grip feels warm to touch. Once it is ready. Peel away! Good luck. Sometime it can be easy….sometimes it’s a pain in the butt!
