Coach Profiles
Meet the iSkate Australia Coaches!
Hagan McCreath
Since graduating from university in Montreal, Canada; Hagan McCreath has been coaching action sports for the past seven years. His experience, dedication and passion towards the sport of skateboarding are why iSkate has positioned him as Head Coach. Hagan gained his experience with the Australian Sports Commission on the ‘Street Active’ program. This guy got paid to travel around Australia for three years and coach action sports to kids in all the major cities! During these tours Hagan spoke at high schools and was even invited to speak at the Our Sporting Future Conference in Melbourne. Hagan is also a keen surfer so if he is not at Monster or any other skate park in Sydney, check the ocean!
Benito Martin
Benito has been with iSkate since day one. He is an amazing coach with a calm and peaceful manner. Benito allows his skating to speak for itself and has a style and approach that is as silky smooth as his base playing. Benito’s passions aren’t only in skateboarding. He continues his path of flair and creativity as the bassist with the blues band ‘Swamp Mother’. If you ever see them on a bill make sure you check them out. They rock! After skateboarding and Rock and Roll, Benito can be found behind the lens of his video camera honing his skills as the next great filmmaker!
Matt Harris
When Matt is not coaching at Monster you can almost certainly find him at his local skate park, Bondi. Matt has been with iSkate for the past four months and we can’t be happier with his coaching techniques and abilities. Matt’s not only got style on the skateboard but also in his wardrobe. This guy throws together some pretty sweet outfits! Matt continues to skate in comps which allow him to provide valuable knowledge about competitive skating to iSkate participants. Matt comes from a family of skaters…¦you may have seen his sister Aimee ripping on the Monster Vert Ramp or down at Bondi skating with her bro! Matt is currently studying film production at TAFE so make sure you study as hard as you skate, mate!
Jamie Hawley
What can we say about one of the most talented skaters in Sydney? Other than he is the most talented skater in Sydney! Jamie makes skateboarding look effortless, somehow he makes it look easy! It’s simple to know if you are speaking to Jamie, just check the tat that spells ‘Hawley’ on his forearm! Hawley’s new major sponsor is Es and he is also part of Organica skateboards. We know this guy is going to soar to great heights with his skateboarding and we are stoked that he can provide some of the iSkate participants with his professional insights. Hawley also just got a new motorbike so if you are wondering why this guy is smiling so much it isn’t just because of skateboarding!
